growing Vegetables
Growing vegetables is not too hard to do if you start doing it the right way. And I did the hard way many times.
There are some vegetables that are easier to start with then others. Believe me, I made that mistake myself.
The easiest vegetables to start with
- Spinach
- Beets
- Radish
- Green beans
- Squash and Zucchini
Spinach
Spinach is an early vegetable and don’t mind a little cold. However, if you grow it for the freezer or canning you will need a lot of plants. I just grow them and freeze them after blanching. I don’t have enough garden space for more.
Beets
Beet also like a little cooler weather but don’t like frost. So, don’t plant them till after the last frost date.
Radish
Radish might be the easiest to grow and does not not a lot of attention.
Green beans.
I love green beans and they are easy to can. That is why we grow pole beans and pole beans. Bush beans can also be grown as a second crop in the fall
Squash and Zucchini
Some people will not agree with me but I think they are easy to grow. They can be destroyed by squash bugs and vine bore bugs.
